3M 290 : surface-mounted or inset-protected

Just as our surface-mounted roadstuds have provided engineers with innovative developments from the early 1970s, 3M Traffic Safety Systems, in partnership with Roadcraft and Fleming, will set new standards with the introduction of the 301 amendment.

The 290 road stud fully proven as a surface applied marker will now be subjected to final testing to allow "mix and match" opportunities in duel use installation and increasing high performance and improved roadstuds.

The 3M 290 will offer to the market new avenues of use. It will be available as a surface application or alternatively as a "mix and match" into a 301 roadstud base. This innovation offers an engineer or contractor opportunities to use a combination of uniformed and high reflectivity from a 3M 290 - either as a surface-applied roadstud, or as a recessed and protected roadstud. 3M 290 and therefore an ideal roadstud in any traffic scheme.

3M 290 offers the benefits of ease of ordering and stock keeping for the contractor. Matching 3M 290 into a base or applying directly to the road surface will be an easy "mix and match" working practice.

3M 290 continues the positive best value that 3M products have given over a period of many years. 3M 290 has accredited surface applied BSEN1463 results 1-2 and is currently being tested within a recessed 301 roadstud to conclude shortly.

Intelligent Roadstuds

A more fundamental approach to road and driver safety is now being taken with the introduction of the Astucia intelligent road stud. These intelligent road studs from Astucia are proven to reduce accidents by providing information to drivers about the road ahead directly in their natural field of vision especially at known black spots or in areas where traditional street lighting is neither practical or cost effective. Astucia is committed to keeping traffic moving and saving lives.
